Ce grand cru de Saint-Emilion profite d'un fabuleux terroir sablo-graveleux port par un sous-sol argileux. En effet, le chteau La Dominique est entour des illustres chteaux Cheval Blanc, L'vangile ainsi que de La Conseillante. Son grand vin propose une chair tendre et une bouche voluptueuse qui allie la gnrosit du Saint-Emilion la sve du Pomerol. La palette aromatique qu'il propose est trs large, et on peut voir ce grand vin de garde voluer avec quelques annes de cave.
Histoire du Chteau
Dj reconnu, comme un lieu-dit propice la culture de la vigne, La Dominique est vendue Mr Jean Chaperon, ngociant Libourne en 1788. Le domaine, qui a atteint les 21 hectares, change alors plusieurs fois de mains au cours des deux sicles suivants. Le chteau appartient douard Louis de Baillencourt dit Courcol lorsque le chteau accde au rang de Grand Cru Class en 1955. C'est d'ailleurs un titre qu'il possde encore. En 1969, Clment Fayat chef d'entreprise dans le BTP et, depuis lors, propritaire de plusieurs autres vignobles dans le bordelais achte le domaine. Grce d'importants investissements dans le vignoble et dans les chais, et la gestion de Jean-Luc Thunevin, depuis 2006 le chteau La Dominique retrouve son clat d'antan.
Aujourd'hui
En mars 2014, le nouveau chai est finalement achev aprs deux ans de travaux. Un sublime btiment aux teintes rougetres, sign du clbre architecte Jean Nouvel, est dsormais le thtre des vinifications au chteau La Dominique.

A rich, heady wine, the 2022 La Dominique offers up aromas of sweet cherries, baked berries and plum liqueur mingled with notions of licorice and melted asphalt. Medium to full-bodied, broad and fleshy, with a rich core of sweet, somewhat jammy fruit but reasonably lively underlying acids, it's framed by plenty of powdery tannin

Tasted on multiple occasions, the 2022 Chteau La Dominique is another brilliant wine from this chteau, which is located on the northern edge of Saint-Emilion, bordering Pomerol. A blend of 88% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, it sports a vivid ruby/purple hue as well as a great nose of red and black fruits, spring flowers, loamy earth, and baking spices. Ripe, medium to full-bodied, silky, and wonderfully balanced, this seamless, elegant 2022 will round into form with just 4-5 years of bottle age and keep for 20-25 years

Dense, fresh and spicy. Tannins rounded and refined. Lovely texture with freshness as well. Clean and poised with length on the finish. Well-judged extraction. One of the best from this estate for a while.
